In his April 2017 General Conference address titled "Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our Lives," President Russell M. Nelson made the following statement:

Earlier this year, I challenged the young adults of the Church to spend dedicated time each week studying everything Jesus said and did as recorded in the standard works. My invitation was for them to embrace the scriptural citations about Jesus Christ in the Topical Guide as their personal core curriculum.

I issued this challenge because I had already taken it upon myself. I submerged myself in reading and underlining every verse mentioned about Jesus Christ, both under the main heading and its 57 subtitles in the Topical Guide. Upon completing this enlightening exercise, my wife asked me about its impact on me. I replied, "I am a changed man!"

I experienced a renewed devotion as I revisited in the Book of Mormon the Savior's own declaration about His purpose during mortality.
